Cambodian Faces
Last Monday, I joined my cousin on a trip to Sithor Kandal in the Prey Veng province in Cambodia. Sithor Kandal, is a rural district a few hours east of Phnom Penh. Visiting just at the end of the rainy season, the landscape was lush and beautiful.
While my cousin was working (she's conducting nutritional field studies as part of her PhD--more on that later), I spent the day photographing the villages of Prey Deum Thnueng II and Russey Sanh. Walking around with a large camera and a newsie cap, I attracted my share of attention--especially from children. In Russey Sanh, I happened to arrive just as the noon recess had begun at the local school and many of the children were eager to pose for portraits.
I put together a set of portraits of the children. You can view the images as a full screen slideshow by clicking here.
